Leading The Way's dual-language French program reaches Francophone Africa (French speaking), including: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, The Congos — The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and The Republic of the Congo (ROC), Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

Leading The Way began its English-French dual-language broadcast in 2004, producing it for Francophone Africa. French is a Romance language spoken originally in France, Belgium, and Switzerland. The language first came into use in Africa through colonization by France and Belgium. The official language of close to 30 countries, French is the native language of more than 110 million people, it is also one of the official languages of the United Nations.

For the last 30 years, many of West Africa's nations have been plagued by corruption and instability, with devastating civil wars and military coups. Many states have failed to develop economically despite abundant natural resources. Africa is also deteriorating because of diseases like AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. Famine is also a growing problem.

Leading The Way's English-French producer working in the region writes, "We are not sure you can imagine how difficult it is to work in circumstances of uncertainty of the next day. ... during a whole week, nobody in the country was able to work because of political demonstrations and violence. But our Lord we serve is faithful and we are experiencing His presence and blessing in our ministry."
